The contingent of Cuban doctors will arrive in the country on Friday, announced in Luanda the Minister of State and Head of the Security House of the President of the Republic, Pedro Sebastião.

It is a contingent of specialists in intensive care, pulmonology, public health, virology and infectious diseases.

Speaking in Parliament, he said that they will help in the assistance, prevention, active search and control of Covid-19 (Coronavirus), measures that aim to mitigate the impact of the pandemic in the country.

The Minister of Health, Sílvia Lucutuca, had informed, in this regard, that in addition to the support of Cuban doctors, the Government is making diplomatic contact, via video-conferences, with China, Brazil and other countries experienced in the fight, prevention and treatment of Covid-19.

The number of people infected with coronavirus in Angola rose from 17 to 19 cases.

The new two positive cases announced this Wednesday concern a man and a woman, both Angolans, coming from Portugal.

With the two new cases, Angola now has a total of 19 infected, of which 15 are active, hospitalized in Luanda hospitals, two dead and two recovered.
