Luanda - With the registration of 120 new positive cases from Covid-19 and the recovery of 185 patients in the last 24 hours, the total number of infected in Angola rises to 17,553 patients from Covid-19.

Of the total number of cases registered between March and December 2020, six thousand and 104 are active, 11 thousand and 44 recovered and 405 died, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the Multisectoral Commission for the Prevention and Combat of Covid-19.

According to the Epidemiological Bulletin on the current data, which reached ANGOP this Thursday, of the total number of active workers, three patients are in critical condition, seven are severe, 74 are moderate, 78 are mild and five thousand and 944 are asymptomatic.

Without death, in the last 24 hours, new cases were registered in the provinces of Luanda, with 52 infected, Bié (16), Cuanza Sul (15), Huambo (12), Uige (12), Lunda Norte (9) , Huíla (3) and Cuando Cubango, with a positive case.

Among those recovered in that period, 148 are from Luanda, 14 from Uige, 11 from Huambo, 10 from Benguela and two from Bié, aged between zero and 75 years.

Regarding laboratory activity, 1,938 samples were processed by RT-PCR in the last 24 hours, resulting in 120 infected, representing a daily positivity rate of 6.2 percent.

The total of processed samples, since last March, is 310 thousand and 932, of which 17 thousand and 553 are positive and 294 thousand and 379 are negative, representing an accumulated positivity rate of 5.6 percent, according to the Multisectoral Commission for Prevention and Combat Covid-19.

The organization explains that the usual live transmission of Covid-19 data, from the Aníbal de Melo Press Center (CIAM), is suspended on December 31, 2020 and on January 1, 2021, due to the celebration New Year's Eve.
