Luanda - The total number of positive cases of Covid-19 in Angola increased, in the last 24 hours, to 17 thousand and 149 infected.

Of the total number of cases, 6,774 are active, 9,976 recovered and 399 died, recorded between March and December 2020, confirmed this Saturday in Luanda, the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda.

Of these assets, three patients are in critical condition, five are severe, 78 moderate, 107 mild and six thousand and 581 asymptomatic,

In the last 24 hours, the country recorded 50 new cases, 55 recovered and three deaths, according to Franco Mufinda.

Of the new people infected in this period, 26 are from Luanda province, 14 from Zaire, six from Malanje, two in Bié, one in Cuanza Norte and an equal number in Uíge, aged between six months and 55 years, 34 of whom are male and 16 female.

As for recovered patients, it involves 37 citizens in Luanda, 14 in Lunda Sul and four in Uíge, aged between 17 and 65 years.

The deaths occurred in Zaire province, with two, and in Luanda (1), involving three Angolan citizens aged between 53 and 81 years old, two men and one woman.

Regarding laboratory activity, 940 samples were processed by RT-PCR in the last 24 hours, resulting in 50 infected, representing a daily positivity rate of 5.3 percent.

In this period, the total of samples processed by RT-PCR, since last March, is 302 thousand and 787, being 17 thousand and 149 positive, representing an accumulated positivity rate of 5.7 percent.

Currently, treatment centers are monitoring 193 patients.
