Luanda - The minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, said, this Saturday, in Luanda, that Angola is "one step closer to community circulation (contamination)", and should redouble the preventive measures, to stop the transmission chain.

The circulation or community transmission of the virus occurs when there is contamination among the population, that is, an infected patient who has not been in the countries with a record of the disease transmits the pathology to another person, who has also not traveled.

The spokeswoman for the interministerial commission to respond to covid-19 stated this fact at a press conference, after announcing five new cases, totaling, in general, 35 positive cases, of which 22 were active.

Among the positive cases is a 36-year-old Guinea trader, resident of the Hoje-Ya-Henda neighborhood, a very busy shopping area on the outskirts of the municipality of Cazenga, Luanda.

The minister informed that the other four cases are of local transmission, made by the patient of case 26, who infected seven of the direct contacts with whom she had connections, six of which her relatives, all asymptomatic.

The analyzes of the other two cases (of the nine) were negative (one child aged six months and the other seven years old).

In the statistical table, the number of infected people increased to 35, already with four nationalities (Angolan, Cuban, South African and Guinea Conakry), with two dead, 11 recovered patients and 22 active.
