Luanda - The Angolan health authorities announced, this Sunday, the registration, in the last 24 hours, of 57 patients recovered from Covid-19, 27 new infections and five deaths.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, who spoke at the usual Covid-19 data update session in the country, of those recovered, 49 are from Namibe, six from Lunda Sul and two from Luanda, aged between two to 71 years.

As for the new positive cases, he pointed out that they involve citizens whose ages range from nine to 78 years old, being 17 male and 10 female.

According to the official, there are 20 cases diagnosed in the province of Luanda, three in Cunene, two in Moxico, one in Huambo and an equal number in Zaire.

He informed that the deaths are four of Angolan citizens and one Mauritanian, aged between 39 and 56 years, two residents in Moxico, two in Namibe and one in Lunda Sul, three of whom are male and two are female.

Angola has 16,188 positive cases, 371 deaths, 8,898 recovered and 6,919 active.

Of the assets, six are in critical condition with invasive mechanical ventilation, seven severe, 78 moderate and 6,689 with mild symptoms.

Health authorities follow 231 patients admitted to treatment centers in the country
