COVID-19: ANGOLA RECORDS 56 NEW CASES AND 14 RECOVERED

Luanda - On Wednesday, health authorities announced the registration of 56 new cases, 14 recovered and one death, in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases, according to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, 42 were diagnosed in the province of Luanda, 6 in Cabinda, 2 in Benguela, 2 in Huíla, 2 in Huambo, 1 in Malanje and 1 in Lunda Norte.

Franco Mufinda said that there are 31 male and 25 female patients, whose ages vary from 2 to 75 years.

The death involves a 28-year-old Angolan citizen residing in Luanda.

Regarding the recovered, Franco Mufinda said that 11 live in Luanda, 2 in Huambo and Moxico.

The country has 20,640 positive cases, with 501 deaths, 19,221 recovered and 918 active.

Of the assets, one is in critical condition, 11 severe, 28 moderate, 26 mild and 852 asymptomatic.

The labs processed 1,288 samples, with a daily positivity rate of 4.3 percent.

66 patients are hospitalized in the country's treatment centers, while 44 people are in the institutional quarantine centers.

The authorities are monitoring 1,564 positive case contacts.
