According to data updated today by the authorities at a press conference in Luanda, Angola maintains the balance of eight positive cases of coronavirus, two deaths and one person cured, while the existence of 162 suspected cases was also mentioned, as well as the institutional quarantine. of 441 people, another 818 being currently kept in a home quarantine.

During their communication today, the Angolan authorities said that despite this context of expectation, the population continues to disregard the security and prevention measures enacted in recent days. In this context, by renewing its call for the population to remain at home as a precaution, the police authorities announced the arrest of more than 500 people during the first six days of the State of emergency.

During this press conference in which the Minister of Health also participated, the latter reported the acquisition of 280 ventilators for hospitals as well as 9 million masks, 80 thousand biosafety kits, tests and thermometers to be made available later this month by China, Sílvia Lutucuta having also announced the arrival, next week, of Cuban doctors, without however mentioning numbers.

It should be noted, in another aspect, that during the communication this Friday, Pedro Sebastião, Minister of State and Head of the Security House of the President of the Republic declared that the holding of municipal elections remains on the executive's agenda despite the obstacles posed by the epidemic from Covid-19.
