Luanda - The Angolan health authorities announced, on Monday, the registration of 89 new infections, 26 recovered patients and one death, in the last 24 hours.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, who spoke at the usual Covid-19 data update session in the country, 37 new cases were diagnosed in Luanda, 28 in Cabinda, 15 in Lunda Norte, four in Benguela, two in Lunda Sul, two in Namibe, an equal number in Namibe and one in Cuanza Sul.

The list of new patients, whose ages range from eight to 81 years old, is made up of 65 males and 24 females.

He informed that 26 patients were recovered, 17 from Benguela, seven from Huambo and two from Luanda.

Regarding death, Franco Mufinda informed that he is a male Angolan citizen, resident in Zaire, with 62 years of age.

Angola has a record of 16,277 cases, with 372 deaths, 8,924 recovered and 6,981 active.

Of the assets, six are in critical condition with invasive mechanical ventilation, seven severe, 78 moderate, 139 with mild symptoms and 6,751 asymptomatic.

Health authorities follow 229 patients admitted to treatment centers in the country.
