Luanda - The Angolan health authorities announced, on Wednesday, 236 new infections, five deaths and 36 recovered, in the last 24 hours.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, who spoke at the usual data update session in the country, 111 new cases were diagnosed in Luanda, 45 in Benguela, 27 in Namibe, 22 in Zaire, 12 in Uíge, seven in Cabinda, four in Malanje, the same number in Cunene, two in Huíla, one in Huambo, the same number in Cuando Cubango.

The list of new patients, whose ages range from five months to 83 years old, is comprised of 156 males and 84 females.

Regarding deaths, the official informed that they were registered in Luanda, with four male patients and one female, aged between 47 and 87 years. The 36 recovered, he said, were also registered in the country's capital, aged between one and 85 years.

Angola has a record of 11,813 cases, with 296 deaths, 5,266 recovered and 6,251 active. Of the assets, 13 are in critical condition with invasive mechanical ventilation, 26 severe, 159 moderate, 378 with mild symptoms and 5,675 asymptomatic.
