Luanda - The Angolan authorities announced, this Friday, the registration of 228 new cases, two deaths and 188 recovered patients, in the last 24 hours.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, who spoke at the usual data update session, there are 209 cases diagnosed in Luanda, 6 in Cabinda, 6 in Uíge, 4 in Huambo, 1 in Bié, 1 in Bengo and 1 in Cuanza Norte.

Among the new patients, whose ages range from 4 months to 85 years old, are 118 males and 110 females.

The deaths in Luanda, involving two Angolan citizens.

As for the recovered, he said, 179 residing in Luanda, 5 in Cuanza Sul, 3 in Benguela and 1 in Zaire.

The overall picture shows 25,279 cases, with 574 deaths, 23,089 recovered and 1,616 active. Of the assets, 11 are in critical condition, 13 severe, 74 moderate, 47 mild and 1,471 asymptomatic.

In the last 24 hours 3,497 samples were processed, a daily positivity rate of 6.5 percent.

Inpatient centers are 145 patients, while 116 citizens are in institutional quarantine.

The authorities maintain 1,229 contacts under epidemiological surveillance.
