Luanda - The Angolan health authorities announced, this Tuesday, the registration, in the last 24 hours, of 116 new infections of Covid-19, 34 recovered patients and three deaths.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, who spoke at the usual Covid-19 data update session in the country, 38 new cases were registered in Luanda, 32 in Zaire, 16 in Lunda Norte, eight in Huambo, six in Cabinda, five in Bié and three each in Moxico, Malanje and Uíge and one each in Huíla and Cuanza Sul.

The new patients, he said, are in the age group of four to 73 years of age, 72 of whom are male and 44 are female.

The recovered, Franco Mufinda informed, involve 34 patients, aged between eight and 67 years old, 10 residents in Zaire, eight in Luanda, six each in Lunda Norte and Malanje, three in Bié and one in Bengo.

The deaths, all female, reported that they were recorded in Luanda, with two, and in Zaire, with one, involving Angolans aged 60, 72 and 73 years of age.

The country has 16,802 positive cases, with 393 deaths, 9,729 recovered and 6,680 assets.

Of the assets, three are in critical condition with invasive mechanical ventilation, six severe, 75 moderate, 119 mild and 6,477 asymptomatic.

The country's health units are still treating 203 patients under treatment.
